The Angel is Durhams number 1 music pub. It is the heart of the alternative/rock scene in Durham centered around like minded people, the best jukebox around live music and an excellent atmosphere.
We're a good old-fashioned Durham-based pub situated in Crossgate. Recently under new management, the pub's appearance may have changed a little in the past few months, but its dedication to music remains solid, with live bands at least once a week and all-day gigs on bank holidays that we'll keep you up to date with on here.
We're having free BBQs throughout the summer, and again we'll keep you posted on dates if you fancy some scran on us. What better than enjoying a pint and burger in our 'tropical' beer garden in the sun?
The pub also now has free WiFi and a laptop that is open for everyone to use for free during the day, as well as a nintendo Wii if you're feeling geeky and a pool table if you're up for a game of stick-ball or two.
We've got all the big games showing on Setanta Sports on our Tvs. We're hoping to set up a cricket team, so any volunteers are welcome. We also have a local league-based football team going during the footie season that you're welcome to try out for when the league gets going again.
So if you're into your rock, alternative, and punk music amongst other classy genres, or in fact just fancy a drink in a place with a great history and atmosphere then make sure to come along, have a drink and whack some tunes on the jukebox. See you at the bar...
